August Release #2

We made the following updates to Maecos.

Manual logging of training hours

A new feature allows users to manually record personal training hours directly in Maecos Learning. This is particularly useful for:

  • White-collar roles that attend seminars, workshops, or online events outside the LMS

  • Blue-collar teams tracking specific operational or safety refreshers not linked to a course

When logging hours, users can specify: training name, duration, date, internal or external training and optional remarks and supporting evidence.

The feature is protected by a new "Can log personal training hours" permission, giving L&D and HR teams control over who can use it.

Permissions for qualification checks

Two new permissions have been added. One controls access to the "Check fit for another position" feature on the User Qualifications page, and the other controls access to the "Find an expert" page. These permissions give administrators more flexibility in limiting who can run fit-gap analyses for potential job transfers, role changes, or expert searches.

DMS updates

In the Document Management System, all external links now open in a new tab by default. This prevents iframe embedding issues that could block content. A setting to configure this behavior will be added in a future release.

Filter tweak

We’ve moved the Owner filter to the bottom of the filter list to improve scanability and keep the most-used filters at the top.

Other improvements and bugfixes

  • Improved SCORM status logic to avoid incorrect completions when both SCORM 1.2 and 2004 data are present.

  • In the document browser, we moved the owner filter to the bottom of the filter list.
