Document template
Templates
One can use templates to create new (online) documents. This can be done via linking templates to the document category or to document types (example below) and selecting a dedicated approval flow
Document types
To start with templates, one needs to create types via Settings › Documents › Document Types
Document types can be used across document categories and ensure consistency over departments and functions. Examples include:
Work instruction - Used for step-by-step instructions
Policies - High level description of management processes
Safety Instruction Card - Simplified onepager with details of an MSDS
5S standard - Standardized visualisation of best practices for housekeeping etc
Leaving the approval flow empty, will immediatly publish the document without approval. Approval flows can be configured as explained above.

The template itself can be any document which is currently active in the system. Enforcing the template usage will not allow to start from scratch (and thus overcome the use of the templates).

When the box "enforce template usage" is triggered, one will not be able to select anything else than the selected templates
Document Categories - Templates
One can also choose to create (or override existing) document template in certain categories. This can only be done at a document categories' main / root category.

When selecting the "templates button", the following side panel opens:

This is a way to override the template for a certain document type at category level.
