All filters are linked together, ensuring one can only choose the remaining possible combinations. This avoids one can configure a selection with a dead-end. Minimal filter is the category, often used filter are the equipment and workstations.
Additionally, labels are an easy way to find back certain documents. In this example, we only use one label category, namely "document types" with the corresponding labels linked to it.
PDF-Conversion
All uploaded documents are being converted into PDF-files (Portable Document Format). This avoids hassle when opening documents on shared computers, industrial devices, mobile phones or tablets. Administrators will keep access to the source file in the original format. On top, this makes it harder to modify documents online
Printed reference
Switching to an online document system isn’t easy, especially for teams that haven’t previously had quick or convenient access to digital files in a document portal. In many industrial environments, printed documents are still the norm. This habit reduces the perceived need to carry a mobile device and can help avoid issues in areas where full network coverage is still being rolled out.
In manufacturing sites where the digital infrastructure is not yet fully established, we will encourage employees to go online and verify whether the printed version they are using is still up to date or if a newer version has been released.
