Use Cases & Examples Training

Find out how one of our customers is using the training module to convert into a learning organisation https://www.leanlead.be/lean-kennisbank/alpros-lean-response-to-labor-shortages

Functional training

First and foremost, functional trainings for eg. Safety (Safety induction, LOTO, Chemical handling, ATEX, Incident reporting, ...) Quality & Food Safety (Line Clearance, Change Over, Set-up, In-process checks, handling non-conformities, Quality standards like HACCP/GMP/IFS/BRC, Allergen management, Good Manufacturing Practices, Cleaning & Sanitation,...), Processes or machines (Start up, shut down, basic troubleshooting, Autonomuous Maintenance, Centerlining, ...), General (5S, workplace organisation, Kaizen, Improvement flows, ...)

Development programs

When employees need to grow in capabilities, you can set up learning paths for new hire onboarding, leadership programs, TPM stages, etc

Self-service training registration

For all external training hours that are not structurally available as courses or for informal training moments between two colleagues.

Consistent qualification criteria

All trainers are to review consistently the same checklists for all "Individual coaching" courses, driving consistency in qualifications and reducing the human factor / subjective evaluation of employees

Centralized place for trainers

All courses that require trainers' interventions are grouped in the follow-up section. This way one can check all unassigned classroom students or individual coaching moments. A plannning of these individual coaching moments can be made

Push new training to all users

Often, profiles have some individual skills (specific to that profile) and some skill blocks (applicable for multiple profiles). When an organisation has skill blocks linked to all profiles (eg onboarding, general skills, safety basics, etc), one can simply add a skill to the skill block to trigger a new training need for all employees following the built-in logic

Find best fit for a (future) vacancy

When you are granted permission for the "find an expert" functionality, one can look for the best (documented) fit to fill a position across all colleagues or limited to a certain team

Find replacement for a colleague

When you are granted permission for the "find an expert" functionality, one can look for the best (documented) fit to back up a colleague across all users or limited within a team

Requalify for a skill when content changes

When employees are qualified in a previous version, there is no need to

Define skill needs for cross-functional teams (Center of Excellence, intervention teams, first aid,...)

Creating a position for a first aid person, a member of a project team, a contributor to a "center of excellence" or "pillar" within TPM programmes, etc will ensure the skill needs become training needs

Find unqualified employees

One can find qualification status per skill (including proficiency level) across a range of filtering options

Track active training status per skill

One can see progress versus all active employees pursueing qualification of a certain skill

Job specific training requirements

Creating a profile for a certain role will ensure the skills and skill blocks are pushed to all users that are linked to that profile

Multi skilling programs

Assigning multiple positions or additional training requirements will trigger training needs to pursue multi skilling programs

Requalification cycles

Skills can expire periodically after qualifcation. This parameter is defined at skill level and becomes active after qualification. An optional field, with visibility across all lists

Force retraining

When there is a need to requalify all users, a "reset-start" can be triggered via a forced retraining across all users.

Skill Based Access Rights (pt1)

Qualifying for a skill (including proficiency levels) can unlock permissions to other modules inside the platform. The permissions are a setting in the skill detail page and will ensure employees can see more modules or have more rights in certain modules when training progresses.

Skill Based Access Rights (pt2)

Following on part 1, more granular rights can also be given at document category level to view or to edit documents, at issue category to edit or receive notifications, approval rights for , etc...

Automatic Certifcates

One can configure (multiple) certificates that can be granted automatically after completion of a skill. They will appear in the details as evidence of completion

Visitor training

One can use the module to validate training of visitors as well. Visitor need to qualify for one course "visitors" with course content to read the safety policy, watch a safety movie or answer some questions in an e-learning. Either directly in the platform with limited permissions or integrated with a visitor portal. This way, trainings can be the same as internal trainings, resulting in reduced admin and eliminating misalignment with versions.

Contractor training

Following on part 1, (a) similar course(s) can be created for contractors working on your manufacturing site. This is an even more powerful and integrated way of leveraging the training module. With expiration activated for some courses and a way to upload certificates for scaffolding, fork lift truck or other relevant external trainings, you can reduce admin efforts, whilst staying compliant to your policies.
